Kitty Twitty came to be after Marc de Vinck added a new cat to the family. His wife, who had completely fallen in love with Chester, would reach out to Marc frequently over the course of the workday, not to hear how his day was going, but how the cat was. After a couple of weeks of this, Marc – a very handy, do-it-yourself kind of guy – decided to give his wife a direct pipeline to Chester’s ongoings via Twitter. Every time Chester swats at the bird on a wire (based on the Twitter mascot bird, of course!), Kitty Twitty sends a message to the mircroblogging site that his adoring owner and fellow followers can read.
The tweeting toy is not a mass-market item, but Marc has provide step-by-step instructions for those with the time, inclination and talent to recreate Kitty Twitty. Marc, in his instructions, assures us that the inner-workings of Kitty Twitty can be just as easily ported over to something that any animal would enjoy using (except maybe a fish) so the family dog can tweet all day, too.
If you or a friend is pretty skilled with a soldering iron and software check out Marc’s instructions for building the tweeting toy and get your pet sending you 140 characters worth of love while you’re at work.
