Friday Quote: Superbowl Weekend!

Sunday is the last NFL game of the season – Colts versus Saints, two really great offense teams with equally fantastic QBs Drew Brees and Peyton Manning in what’s set to be . . .
Oh, come on.  You didn’t really think I’d keep that up, did you?
We all know what this game is all about.  [...]

Moose Plays Soccer (video)

Remember those tiny baby moose from the previous video? Remember how cute they were? This is what they will look like (if they’re boys) when full grown.  Manchester United may want to look into signing this guy.

Any one else think that he just got those antler?  He seems to be befuddled as to [...]

Baby Moose Play in Sprinkler (video)

Two baby moose (should that be mooses, meece, mice?) and their mom find someone’s lawn sprinkler the height of enjoyment on a summer afternoon in Anchorage, Alaska .

Don’t they look like they are having fun?

Unlikely Trio

I knew I had to post this story when three different people emailed it me with five minutes . . .

They make an unlikely trio, but Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger have forged an unusually strong bond.
Considering that they would be mortal enemies if they ever were to meet [...]

Puppies Rescued from Drainpipe

Firefighters in Tulsa, Oklahoma were called upon to help salvage what could have easily turned into a very sad situation for nine puppies.
It was Christmas time when neighbors, Tiaunna Hooper and Virgil Dowline,  saw a very pregnant dog out in the blizzard.  They tried to catch her but she managed to elude capture.
When they saw [...]

Piglet Saved with CPR, Raised with Puppy Litter

A happy ending happened for a little piglet whose beginning was tragic.  Pig Pig, a little female pig, was the only surviving member of her litter.  Days after being born, her mother became very ill due to complications from labor.  She rolled over on top of Pig Pig and squished the little girl.
Jeff Olson who [...]

Dog Rescued from L.A. River (video)

Friday of last week Los Angeles County fire department was notified that there was a dog in the middle of the swift-moving waters of the LA River.  KTLA news documented the harrowing rescue.

The dog, a German shepherd, is currently quarantined for rabies after biting the rescuing firefighter several times.  The dog has a few scrapes [...]

Update to “Just One Dog” Stanley

Last month we posted the video of Stanley, a forgotten and abandoned pit bull whose time was running out at a high kill shelter and was lucky enough to be spotted by Cathy of Camp Cocker rescue (www.campcocker.com) in Los Angeles.  Today we have an update on Stanley from the One Bark at a Time [...]

Puppies Dressed as Cats

Conan O’Brien, now former host of The Tonight Show, gives us our Monday morning “mini-dose of joy” (his words,  and I agree).  Although it’s kinda dumb, it’s also kinda cute.
But really dumb. But really cute.

Thanks Robin C. for the eagle-eye submish.

Update to Dogs Stolen from Tennessee Rescue Story

We have an update to what started as a tragic story and is just getting worse . . .
It turns out that the burglary report was bogus.  The doggy day care facility was NOT broken into, but instead the woman who lived above the facility as a caregiver made up the story about the theft [...]
